Information we handle
The information involved depends on how you use the site. You can browse public pages without creating an account.
- Account and profile information, such as your name, email address, phone number, location and whether the account holder is a participant or a parent or guardian.
- Enrolment and booking records, including Award level, expedition selection, booking and payment status, and set-up call or waiver status.
- Contact and partnership enquiry details, such as your name, email address, organisation and message.
- Technical session information used to keep an account signed in and protect authenticated pages.
How we use information
We use this information to create and administer accounts, respond to enquiries, manage enrolments and expeditions, start and reconcile payments, provide participant access after confirmed payment, and support program delivery and safety administration.
Booking access is based on server-confirmed payment records. A pending payment does not activate participant access.
Services that support the website
Supabase provides account authentication and stores website profile, enrolment and booking records.
Payments are entered through hosted Stripe Checkout. Stripe processes payment information and returns payment and checkout references to the site; card details are not stored in the Beyond Horizons application database.
Resend is used to deliver contact and partnership enquiries and transactional emails.
If the Smartwaiver feature is used, waiver and health details are provided to Smartwaiver. The Beyond Horizons application records waiver status, an identifier and relevant signing dates rather than storing the health details locally.
Cookies and account sessions
The site uses account-session cookies so signed-in users can access authenticated pages. Browser and hosting technologies may also process basic request information needed to deliver and protect the site.
Keeping information
